Menopause! Yup, I said it… the M word!

I have officially crossed the post menopausal line and I will say it has caused some interesting thoughts and emotions.

Over the past 2 years, I have felt off and on like God was nudging us to have another baby. Which is wild because I couldn’t really imagine going through pregnancy and the newborn life again at 50.

But I also found great excitement in thinking about another little one in our house. My emotions of another child were definitely up and down and at the heart of it, Tanner and I decided to just let go and whatever will be, will be.

As I look back on my life, I went from being a little girl only dreaming of being a mother and not wanting a career, to having a career and becoming a mother later in life and then not wanting to give up my career… to now being a stay at home mom and a little sad that my window for having kids as ended.

Talk about an identity crisis!! There is a real balancing act that comes with motherhood and working for income and knowing who you are along the way.

I’m closer to 51 now, and I’m settling into the 2nd half of my life being the BEST 1/2 of my life! I have my Mr Right, my kids, and a life that is full of adventure.

And look… I know that women will sometimes still get a cycle post menopausal and I believe anything is possible with God, so who knows… for now, it’s time to just focus on who’s in front of me now and making the most of every day.
