I just pooped my pants and I’m not mad about it.

Social media as a technology isn’t “bad” persay, but its clear as day that the powers behind its creation are incentivized, not by our well-being, but by our addiction.

Knowing that this system has the power to override our will-power, we must both demand better from those who control it AND build our own awareness, strength and balance in order to use it in ways that actually serve us (or decide to ditch it all together if thats whats best for us).

If we don’t approach this technology mindfully, we are, simply put, **used by it** to make others rich.

I’m a big fan of this initiative because it both sends a message to the tech companies AND because taking time off shows us more clearly how these platforms truly affect us, so that we can make better decisions for ourselves moving forward.

This takes collective AND individual action.
