Community service programs can do a lot more than fill a calendar or check a CSR box.

When they're built with intention, they create stronger connections, bring teams together in new ways, and give employees an experience they actually remember.

What’s one thing your company does to make community service more meaningful for employees?

Last week, we broke a Wish for Wheels record, serving students in a total of 16 different schools in just one week!

Behind every one of those school visits was a group of employees who stepped away from their normal workday to build bikes, connect with each other, and create a moment these children will remember for a long time.

This milestone alone is proof of all of the good that can happen when companies decide to turn team building into something bigger.

To every corporate partner who helped make this possible: thank you for showing up, building with purpose, and helping us create opportunities for 2nd-graders across so many communities in a single week.

A lot of team events assume connections will happen just because people are in the same room.

What they see instead is that most people end up sticking with the coworkers they already know and go back to business as usual the next day.

The difference is usually in the structure. When there’s a shared challenge and a clear outcome people are working toward together, especially for a greater purpose, communication becomes more natural, and teams start interacting differently.

That’s the shift we see during our Team Build & Give events all the time.
