Just when it feels like no one is getting any serious trail damage, someone has to go and break and axle. Tim pulled that one off on Balanced Rock Road in the snow, hitting a rock on a hill. One broken axle, axle shaft, and flat tire later and he's ready to get back at it.

Well, it wasn't all trouble, it was a blast up there! We think we have our Trail Damage of the Year winner already and it's not even summer yet. Good times!

Per TrailDamage.com tradition, we went to the Cripple Creek Ice Festival before hitting the trails. We didn't see much snow this time, so the trail runs were uneventful. But the blue skies were really nice.

We even had dinner together after the trails, something we always love to do. After all, we're family.

It's a bit of a drive from Denver, but worth it to see Williams Pass during the one month it's open every year. And for us, we hadn't seen it in 17 years! We had a great time on Hancock Pass before negotiating the tight turn at the trailhead in a bunch of weekend traffic.

The fall colors were amazing -- we timed it right. We had a blast!

There are so many trails, and we have our favorites. But 11 years is way too long to go between trail runs! Our newest member Josh joined us first on Mosquito Pass, a trail they just opened up by digging through a snowed-in trail.

Birdseye Gulch was awesome to see again, and it seems like we do it once every decade. We really need to hit that awesome trail more often.
