Beverly A. Rennie
Bev died on June 13, 2026 at the age of 79 from a Glioblastoma brain tumor. She leaves behind her brother James Almon Rennie Jr. who she would say could drive her crazy but whom she loved dearly. The two of them lived together for the past 40 years in Denver.
Bev received her masters from DU in Speech Pathology and Otology. She worked in the Denver Public Schools as a speech therapist. She would continue to point out to you if something you said was incorrect. But always in a pleasant, matter-of-fact way.
Because she enjoyed purchasing jewelry on her world travels, she wanted to learn more about the stones and studied with the Gemological Institute of America; graduating with certification in diamonds and colored stones.
An animal lover first and foremost, Bev never could have a house without dogs and although she would never pick her favorite, she was a definite Pomeranian fan. She would walk the neighborhood with 2 or 3 dogs twice a day; pushing along her little pink buggy for whichever one might tire first and need a ride. Not just limited to dogs, Bev also cared for a couple special ferrets.
She carried over her fondness for animals doing volunteer work for the Denver Zoo. Her 45-year tenure included spending time in the hospital feeding, taking care of and, most importantly, holding the babies. Her favorites were the polar bears Klondike and Snow. Sometimes they would get a little playful and nip. She loved telling her story about the bite she got from Klondike and exactly where it was on her leg.
Known for her craft and sewing talents, neighbors could look forward to the holidays for unique items left on their porches. Her sewing skills were helpful in the many items she made for her church and animal organizations.
As soon as Bev realized this tumor would be ending her life, her faith gave her great comfort. Bev had many friends at Faith Presbyterian Church of Aurora and wanted them to know how much they meant to her.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 9, 2026 at 10:00 am at Faith Presbyterian Church of Aurora, 11373 E Alameda Ave, Aurora, CO 80012.
