After 15 years in marketing, promotions, and business management, I found my home in publicity in 2011, helping authors, musicians, and all kinds of creatives individuals step into the spotlight. Sometimes the biggest shift in business
is not strategy, it is mindset. The way we see challenges can either hold us back or
push us forward. One setback can feel like failure, or it can become proof that growth is happening.

I have learned that success often starts with changing your perspective. Instead of asking “Why is this not working?” I started
asking “What is this teaching me?”

That small shift changed everything.
The past version of us focused on fear, doubt, and waiting for the perfect time. The present version understands that progress comes from showing up, learning, and trying again.

Growth is not always loud. Sometimes it is simply choosing to see the glass half full and continuing anyway.

Your mindset shapes your momentum.

In his latest piece for Writer's Digest, our client A. David Lewis explores the power of the “gutters” (the spaces between panels where readers pause, reflect, and create meaning of their own) in comics. He has a thoughtful take on storytelling and the importance of leaving room for audiences to connect with a narrative in their own way.

Publicity has always felt a lot like reading a good book to me.

Every page matters. Every chapter builds trust. And sometimes, the smallest moments are the ones people remember most.

The same goes for business. It is not always the big launches or major features that create connection. Sometimes it is the simple post, the honest story, or the behind-the-scenes moment that helps people feel like they’re connected directly to you.

That is what real visibility looks like.

I have learned that the best publicity comes from showing up as yourself and letting people connect with the story behind the brand.
