Movimiento Poder was born out of a struggle at Valverde Elementary School in Denver where parents removed a principal who refused to stop the practice of forcing Mexicano children to eat their lunches from the cafeteria floor as a form of punishment. VICTORY! The Denver Public Schools (DPS) Board of Education voted unanimously to pass an immigration policy that will offer clarity and safety for our immigrant students.
This is a HISTORIC VOTE, one that will support our immigrant students and families in schools. POWER TO THE STUDENTS. ✊🏽
