They are sometimes known as carriage houses, in-law units, casitas, or granny flats. In Denver, ADUs have strict size and design standards and the owner of the property must live in either the ADU or the main house....

3701 West 25th Avenue, before & after! So glad to be able to retain the Tudor charm - as always, quite challenging to get these rooflines to work in the tight Denver bulk plane requirements. I was able to make a big lower-slope west-facing portion of roof for solar panels (which you can't see from the ground).

4301 Wyandot is coming along! These rooflines are going to be well worth the zoning variance we had to get. Tudor-style second story additions are tricky.
