Our country has grown appreciably since the 1980s (some dub this the great prosperity) until 2008. In fact, the average income per household rose by $11,714. Of that growth, however, the top 10 percent earned 98 percent of that growth leaving the bottom 90 percent of society with just 2 percent of that growth.
