Sonic Conscious

Got a tool box for my tools, which are microphones. Doubles as an amp shelf. Saves space and can wheel into the live room for set up.

Little different guitar mic setup by including Mid-Side about 3’ back from the amp. The Tul G12 and SM57 on the grill will be summed to mono and the M-S will be summed to stereo. The idea is to use the M/S in some parts of the song, to add depth and width the mono track.

What a great group of talented musicians! This session was a blast. Thank you Night Routine for letting me be a part of it.

Very excited for this release. Darkarts is such a cool and unique band. Incredibly dynamic, great songs and performances. Recorded over 4 days. It was a great experience working with them. They came in super prepared and just killed it.

Back in November I recorded and mixed the very first song in the new studio. It was awesome to have it be by my good friend Shaun Foy. He wrote, played guitar, bass, keys and sang for this production. Also had my good friend Matt Fink in to play the drums. It's a fun song and fantastic lyrics.

It felt great to take off the construction hat and put the audio engineer hat back on, after about 4 years of building this place and dealing with the pandemic.

Shaun does all kinds of cool music, most of which he records and mixes on his own, and does an amazing job at it.

Daytime view from the control room. Love the window to the outside world in the live room. It's great to have it dark and vibey, but sometimes super bright is good too.

Control room is fully dialed in and ready take off!

It puts the guitars on its wall, now! It does what its told!
