Happy Mother’s Day to the one we all share. 🌎💚

The mountains, forests, rivers, and skies around us give life to every community, every family, and every generation. We’re all connected through the world beneath our feet and the air we breathe, a reminder that caring for our planet means caring for each other.

Today, we celebrate the spirit of nurturing, resilience, and generosity that surrounds us every day in nature. May we continue to protect the places that sustain us, appreciate their beauty, and leave them better for those who come after us.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at SunShare.

This Giving Tuesday, SunShare committed to making a donation on behalf of every new subscriber who joined us in Colorado and Minnesota. We’re excited to share that—together—we contributed over $900 to two organizations doing meaningful work in the communities we serve.

In Colorado, continues to support families with essential resources. In Minnesota, protects the natural landscapes that make the state so special. We’re proud to support both.

A sincere thank-you to all the new SunShare subscribers who made these contributions possible. Your choice to support clean energy also helped lift up local nonprofits doing important work every day.

Happy Winter Solstice!

Today marks the longest night of the year, but don’t worry—the sun is beginning its gradual return! 🌅 From this point forward, the duration of daylight will steadily increase with each passing day until the summer solstice. 🌞 This means solar energy systems will have more sunlight available to convert into electricity, resulting in progressively higher levels of energy generation as the days lengthen.

Here’s the science: Solar panels work by harnessing photons—particles of light—from the sun. These photons are absorbed by the photovoltaic cells in the panels, which then convert the light energy into direct current (DC) electricity through the photovoltaic effect. As the Earth tilts toward the sun and the days lengthen, solar panels are exposed to more sunlight, which increases the amount of energy they can generate. Even during the shorter, colder winter months, solar panels continue to produce energy, helping to provide clean, renewable electricity to the grid.

So, while we enjoy the beauty of the season, let’s look forward to the brighter days ahead!"
