In 1946, amidst the devastation of postwar Japan, Takeshi Godai set out to build something enduring. Raised in his family’s bicycle shop alongside an apprentice named Konosuke Matsush*ta—who would later found Panasonic—Godai inherited a profound reverence for impeccable Japanese engineering. After honing his expertise as the head of Matsush*ta’s speaker factory, a yearning to build his own legacy took hold.

Godai established the “Osaka Denki Onkyo Company” with a vision to stimulate economic growth, foster employment, and elevate domestic craftsmanship to a world-class standard. Driven by a passion for precision and elegance, he eventually shortened the name to ONKYO - meaning "sound harmony" - cementing a global legacy that remains fiercely dedicated to unrivaled audio accuracy.

To celebrate this milestone, Onkyo has unveiled a collector-grade Muse Series network streamer and integrated amplifier, meticulously designed to honor the heritage that built the brand's reputation.

Inspired by the iconic Onkyo M-588 stereo power amplifier, the concept pairs a timeless mid-century silhouette with contemporary streaming performance. It’s presence is anchored by a stunning champagne-gold aluminum chassis, beautifully contrasted by real-wood walnut veneer side panels. The result is a piece of high-fidelity art that feels both archival and effortlessly modern.

Onkyo is also introducing special limited-edition versions of its acclaimed “Creator Series” powered speakers. The “GX-30” and “GX-10” concepts pay direct tribute to the legendary Onkyo D-200 speakers, flawlessly translating that historic acoustic signature into a refined, desktop-ready form factor.
