6th-straight day with an Air Quality Alert for Denver, 26th so far this year...likely a few more to go before we get some moisture (and better air quality) early next week.

No full blown video today, just pretty much the same as yesterday!
Hot and dry across the entire state today with some gusty conditions possible around the Urban corridor and Denver area later today but also a chance for some showers and thunderstorms across the southern high country today!

Keeping an eye on this new fire that just sparked next to I25 just south of Monument and just a couple minutes north of the Air Force Academy specifically between Gate Blv and Baptist Road on the west side of I25
The fire is 5 acres in size, with 1-3ft flames and isolated tree torching.

Heads up Denver metro area and northern I25 corridor!
A Heat advisory will be in effect for prolonged heat with highs spring onto the upper 90s challenging 100ยฐ is some places. Overnight lows will definitely struggle to cool down.
Make sure youโre drinking plenty of water and staying cool out there! This heat will stick around for the next week!

The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Central Adams County in northeastern Colorado... Western Arapahoe and Central Arapahoe County in northeastern Colorado...
* Until 630 PM MDT.
* At 552 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from 7 miles northeast of D.I.A Terminal and Concourses to over Arapahoe Park, or along a line from 25 miles northeast of Denver to 14 miles east of Denver, moving east at 20 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and small hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
* Locations impacted include... Aurora, Bennett, Manila Village and Watkins.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. These storms are capable of producing damaging winds.

The strongest part of the storm still remains over the airport
