SLEEP = RECOVERY. Specifically between the hours of 10pm and 2am because of hormone production necessary for muscle healing. But the ๐Ÿ”‘ is to get into your deep sleep cycle by 10pm, which means screens off by 8pm and in bed by 9pm for the adolescent ๐Ÿง . BONUS POINTS for reading once the phone is docked as the eye movements required by reading signal the brain to relax, quickly getting you into a deep sleep cycle.

While this study was for adolescent bodies, the same results have been found in adult studies.

If youโ€™ve been a GCPT patient, you know that part of our treatment philosophy is understanding that small actions can have big impacts on your health. This holiday season, weโ€™d like to apply the same principle to help our community! Starting Nov 1 thru the New Year, we will be supporting the Giving Grocery at Denver South High School. If you are unfamiliar with this AMAZING organization, they provide both fresh and non-perishable nutritious, and culturally significant food items to over 200 South High School students each week. We will be accepting jars of peanut butter and/or jelly (because we are big on protein as part of a healthy diet for growing bodies). We hope youโ€™ll join us in spreading a little love this holiday season!

๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‚๐ŸŽƒ FALL PROTEIN BITES ๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ
Great on the go or after early workouts to fuel your body with carbs, protein and fiber. Some even eat them as a breakfast in my house.
What you need:
1 can pumpkin puree
1/2C creamy nut butter
1/2C pure maple syrup
2 eggs
4 teaspoons vanilla extract
2C flour of choice
2tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1C old fashioned oats
1/2C chocolate chips
1/2C diced dates

To make:
Preheat oven to 350
Mix wet ingredients until well combined
Gradually add dry ingredients until incorporated
Use ice cream scoop to portion mixture and drop onto parchment lined cookie sheets.
Bake 15-20 min depending on desired texture
Cool on baking rack and enjoy or store :)
