The one thing that is constant is change, it is literally always happening.
None of us is ever the same from moment to moment, we are shifting in every single way you can think of and all the ways you can't even imagine.
The thing we get to choose is HOW we change, what will guide our shifting, and will we allow for ourselves as well as those around us to change with grace? Will we be flexible with ourselves as we learn and apply lessons to how we BE in the world? Will we be curious about those changes?
Change is a quagmire and the questions that come up at least for me are endless. I'm challenging myself this year to be both bendy and have boundaries as I experience this constant flow of change all around.

Weekend Wandering:

Yesterday I read a post by someone I follow on LinkedIn and I shared it both in person with folks as well as on LinkedIn.
The post was a critical thinking exercise, and it worked.

I spent a large part of my morning with the questions and in discussion with my partner, and every revolution around the questions in the post led me to a new perspective and a new way to respond.

To be honest, it had been quite some time since I had that kind of good stimulation in a conversation. Some of it was tricky. I noticed defensiveness in me as well as my partner, and I got very curious about that. I let that curiosity take the lead as I responded, first asking myself why I was being defensive, and then listening more than responding when my partner spoke.

Overall the experiment led me to be more aware of my own biases and responses. It helped me to see how hung up I am on definitions and being right about my own perspectives. It created new space for me to interact with others more respectfully, with a greater degree of honor for their experiences.

I am grateful for these moments. It's largely why I am still on LinkedIn. Thanks for listening, maybe these streams of thought will be refreshing for you!

I hope you have had a restful weekend. See y'all tomorrow!
