Ophthalmic Medical Technicians help ophthalmologists collect data and measurements to allow the correct diagnosis and treatment of eye disease. Ophthalmic medical technicians work in a wide range of settings, including hospitals, clinics, multi-specialty offices, private practices, or refractive surgery centers. In addition to general ophthalmology, ophthalmic medical technicians can specialize in areas such as cornea, retina, glaucoma, pediatrics, oculoplastics, and neuro-ophthalmology.
