While 2010’s flood may have been our 100 - or even 500 - year flood, this weekend’s was certainly our 10 year flood. These shots are taken from the bridge just north of 1st Ave. on Franklin Road this morning while there was still a bit of fog hovering above the Harpeth.

Shooting some headshots today for and and noticed this rainbow on my Apple box (an apple box is something height-challenged photographers stand on while shooting)

This made my day. One of my best friends (Herb) from my days in Chico, CA sent me a photo of a coffee mug that I made for him back in my pottery/ceramics days.

The picture caused me to remember that human experience (drinking coffee) around the things we create (coffee mugs) is such a beautiful and meaningful thing. Our utensils matter. They bring soul to our quotidian activities.

I’m opening an art gallery in Franklin. I’m thinking that in addition to photographs I might also try and make some coffee mugs to sell there. Life is too short to drink out of mugs we got at IKEA. Who wants a mug??

I love shooting slow shutter with intentional camera movement . Don’t do it enough. Headed to the ocean in a few days so hopefully I’ll get more of this.
