These were my three favorite books last month!

Finally finding time to read again now that my kiddo’s sleep is more predictable 🙌 I loved all of these, but heads up - they’re a bit heavy.

📖 WHAT KIND OF PARADISE by Janelle Brown
Father/daughter story set in a 1990s rural Montana cabin. Why are they there? What is the truth of their past? Freedom means she has to navigate a world she doesn’t understand, reckon with her own value system, and discover very complicated truths about her family. This one hit different as a now-parent raising a child in the AI age.

📖 AFTERTASTE by Daria Levelle
A chef can connect the dead with their living loved ones who still mourn them, through a homecooked meal only he can taste and prepare. But just because he can, doesn’t mean he should cross the line between life and death. A beautiful exploration of grief, and a mouth-watering tour of the culinary world.

📖 HOME BEFORE DARK by Riley Sager
Her family fled their Vermont estate in the middle of the night when she was just a kid. Then her dad wrote a bestseller about the house’s hauntings, but she never believed his stories. Until she inherits the house! And…decides to finally investigate for herself. I asked a friend for a spooky Halloween thriller and this one had me afraid of the dark!
