I got married in September of 2024 to the love of my life Fran ✨ and as a result, we took our honeymoon trip to Japan in January of 2025.

I took a lot of pictures, as a white boy in Japan does, and my dad asked me “how are you going to share these photos?”

And to be honest, I had never really thought of that before. When I started my career in photography in 2016, Instagram was the vehicle for all of my photography. I always shared everything first to IG as a way to show people my work and get the word out that “hey! I take pictures and I’d love for you to take my photography seriously!”

But it got me thinking about how I wanted to present my photos and how I’d love to show them off in a real, tangible way. So I went to work contacting galleries to put on a show for these photos, just as a way to really give them the life I thought they deserved.

And unfortunately that didn’t work out and every gallery I contacted was booked solid for a year+ 😂 so after that failed attempt, last summer, I made a zine with the help of YellowDog and the master of zines Vera Benschop

If you’ve been to irontigerstudio, you probably walked out with a copy of my zine “sweet, sweet honey”, a zine composed of photos I took on a medium format Fuji and the one lens I brought for it, a 65mm manual focus lens, while on my honeymoon in Japan.

So after all that, I finally want to share a few of my favorites from our trip, from my zine, and id love to give you one in person someday 🖤 and if you’re a far away friend and want one, DM me your address and cover shipping and I’ll get one to ya!
