Well Denver, 12 unforgettable years together have come to an end. Now it’s time for this Jersey boy to head back to the East Coast to be with the people he loves most. The Mile High City will always hold a special place in my heart, but my soul is calling me home. Peace out, Denver!

Tonight, we closed our doors for the last time. Thank you to everybody who came out over the past few days to say goodbye. Thank you to everybody who couldn’t stop by but sent messages and comments about how much they loved Ice Cream Riot. Thank you to everyone who has ever enjoyed my ice cream creations. Thank you all so incredibly much.

I also want to say thank you to this amazing woman. 9 years ago, Sarah was the first employee I ever hired. I was so lucky to have her then, and even luckier when she came back to Ice Cream Riot four years ago. She’s the best employee I’ve ever had, but more importantly, she’s one of the best friends I’ve ever had in my entire life. Sarah, I love you to the moon and back, and I’m beyond grateful for our friendship.

I can’t believe this is really goodbye, friends. Thank you all for 10 unforgettable years in my little ice cream shop on Colfax. I mean that from the bottom of my grateful Irish heart.

Our final day will be this coming Tuesday, December 19th. I still can’t believe this 10 year chapter of my life is coming to an end. It doesn’t even feel real at times. To say I’m a mess of emotions right now would be quite the understatement. Gratitude. Sadness. Optimism. Pessimism. Uncertainty. It’s a little overwhelming at times. John Lennon once sang “nobody told me there’d be days like these”, and boy is that hitting home right now. Thanks again for all of your support over the last decade, friends. It means the world to me.
