When you have less energy to devote to eating behavior change, do less.
Don't quit.
With nutrition, perfectionism is setting a completely unrealistic standard, and then quitting when we can't meet it.
We aren't robots.
A list of nutritional rules is not helpful.
Our lives are too complicated for one rule set to fit our values in every situation.
We have flaws and mistakes and human ups and downs.
Success with nutrition behavior change, ironically, is contingent on how flexible we are.
It's our ability to realize that we don't have the same capacity to devote to our nutrition behavior change every week.
It's our skill level in flexibly navigating the ups and downs of our schedules and emotional demands in life.
We have to learn how — when confronted with our own humanity — make a flexible change to the program, instead of quitting completely.
It's ok to be human.
You don't need to make 100% perfect nutrition choices all of the time.
When you have less energy to devote to eating behavior change, do less.
When you have more energy to devote to eating behavior change, do more.
When you have less energy to devote to eating behavior change, do less.
Don't quit.
When you have less energy to devote to eating behavior change, do less.
Don't quit.
When you have less energy to devote to eating behavior change, do less.
Don't quit.

It's always the interaction of all four.
I just took a full semester social psychology class in two weeks. It was brutal. Mental note, don't do that again.
So, I'm about a million years behind on comments and DMs. But, I thought this would be a fun way to turn some of what I learned into an IG post.

I was so excited to be on the podcast!
(Link in bio)
It’s far and a way my favorite psychology podcast, I’ve been listening for years, and they’ve had amazing, amazing guests.
It’s completely amazing that I got to be on, just being the little author/coach that I am 😃
It was totally a dream.
Was extra fun to get to talk with since we are both into ACT/contextual behavioral science, also, she’s just a rad person.
If you want to get into values, eating skills, flexibility, and emotional eating, this is a cool a different podcast.
