Huge thank you to Right at Home USA for convening communities from across the country in San Jose, California. From Alaska to Miami and right here in Metro Denver, the Right at Home National Team is guiding a powerful cohort of like-minded leaders who believe we can stop homelessness before it starts. Thanks to Adams County Government, CO and the City and County of Denver Government, and Field Impact Partners for a powerful week of learning and planning.

MDHI joined the City and County of Denver Government yesterday to celebrate the results of the 2026 PIT Count and to discuss what the next steps are in continuing our work.

Mayor Mike Johnston highlighted that the City and County of Denver has seen a decrease in homelessness for the first time in nearly 10 years. MDHI Executive Director Jason Johnson then joined in saying that the Metro Denver region decreased from 10,774 in 2025 to 9,950 in 2026—an 8 percent total reduction.

Both the 2025 State of Homelessness Report, which MDHI released on Monday, and the 2026 PIT Count are showing decreases in homelessness across our region and demonstrating that when we work together, real progress is possible.

We thank our partners across the region for their efforts in helping us conduct this year's PIT and look forward to continuing to build upon this progress!

Last week, Elevated Denver hosted their first annual Voices & Visions: Stories That Spark Hope event. Jason Johnson, Executive Director, and Sofia Vigil, Director of Strategy & Impact, of MDHI were thrilled to be invited to and attend this immersive exhibition by artists with lived experience of homelessness.

Elevated Denver is celebrating five years of capturing stories from our neighbors that have served to educate the public, foster compassion, and drive new solutions to homelessness. This event featured photos, personal narratives, and spoken word from people with lived experience of homelessness.

Congratulations on this achievement and thank you for continuing to highlight the importance of centering LE voices!
