Leak Detection Training Institute

This leak was 12ft. deep under a garage floor. Five condos were effected. The pipe was 4" ductile iron. My SR-20 kept saying it was 5ft. deep. I located it with the Sewerin A50 and the BO-4 ground mic. I had to turn the valve on, adding water while at the same time pushing 30psi of air from the house side. I could barely hear a low rumbling sound that ended up being appx. 2ft. from the actual leak. This is the deepest slab leak that I have seen.

Ever wonder why tracer gas travels so far from the leak? This pic shows how much the gravel substrate settled after the pour, over 20 years ago. This is also the reason that I always verify the leak by listening.
