Colorado finally got the memo… SNOW!!❄️

Snow is always beautiful… and unfortunately one of the busiest occurrences for insurance claims.

A few quick winter reminders:
🚗 Leave extra space between vehicles
🛞 Make sure your tires are winter ready
🧊 Bridges and shaded roads freeze first
📞 Know who to call if something does happen

If you’re unsure what your auto policy actually covers in a winter accident, we’re always happy to review it with you.
Drive safe and enjoy the snow 😊

Is Switching Insurance Every Year Really Saving You Money? 🤨

We all love saving a few bucks—but when it comes to your insurance, jumping from carrier to carrier each year could cost you more in the long run.

📌 Here’s why loyalty matters:
✅ Coverage Consistency: The lowest premium doesn’t always mean the best protection. Constantly switching can leave gaps in coverage that you might not even realize.
✅ Nonrenewal Risks: Carriers may flag frequent switching as a higher risk, making it harder to secure coverage or leading to nonrenewals.
✅ Loyalty Benefits: Many carriers offer long-term policy perks like accident forgiveness, disappearing deductibles, or claims-free discounts—benefits that only come with time.
✅ Trusted Relationships: Building a long-term relationship with your agent allows us to advocate for you, customize your coverage, and provide better service.

At Val Moritz Insurance Group we’re here to help you navigate the best coverage options—not just chase the lowest price. 🙌

Let’s talk about a plan that protects what matters most to you—now and in the future. 💪

We are incredibly saddened to see what is happening with the fires in California and pray these fires let up soon! 💔 We wanted to give you some tips on what to do when you are evacuated:

1. “Pictures and Passports”. But really that encompasses all important docs. 🛂

2. Empty the safe of valuables - especially sentimental ones. Even if the safe claims to be fireproof.

3. Pet food, pet bowl, pet cbd if you have it. Pets are pretty agitated and scared for days (especially if you can’t return to the home), so consistency for them with food bowls helps. 🐾

4. A water bottle for yourself (you can refill it anywhere) and high protein snacks!

5. Clothes for 3 days, 1 week of underwear, basic toiletries, two professional work outfits and basic makeup. You might be back at work before you can figure out if any clothes can be salvaged. 👕

6. All your medicine (prescription and OTC/supplements) that are taken daily. If you do leave a prescription medicine behind, your insurance does usually cover 1-2 “lost bottles” a year, so even if it’s not up for a refill, you can get your prescription refilled for your normal copay. Make sure to call and tell the pharmacist that the meds were left behind, so they can apply the “lost bottle” waiver to that refill. 💊

7. Take pictures of each room before you leave. Try to grab closer up pics of closets, cabinets and shelving. You’ll have to make a contents list for insurance later and these pictures will make the process much easier. Take pictures of your cars - inside with mileage showing and outside 📸

Above all else, care of yourself and your loved ones. The process of rebuilding takes months and you’ve got to view this as marathon. You’re safe - and that’s the most important thing of all! ♥️
