đđťSupplements: need âem or not?
To get straight to the point, no supplement will replace or fill in for eating a healthy balanced diet.
In fact unless you have a deficiency, taking the same supplements everyday is a total waste of moneyđ¸
Most of the vitamins people choose to take are better absorbed by consuming them through whole foods.
If youâre already eating a few different colors of fruits and veggies everyday, complex carbs like beans and whole grains, and some protein chances are youâre already getting your needs met.
Basically you may be paying a lot of money on these pills to have them just get peed outđ˝
Here are the 4 supplements I recommend having on hand for anyone who isnât growing a tiny human or without deficiencies, and when to take them:
ă°a good probiotic
for days when you donât have any fermented foods around (yogurt, kimchi, kombucha, etc)
ă°vitamin D
for days when youâre unable to get at least 15 minutes of direct midday sunlight (winter is coming)
ă°fish oil
for days when youâre running low on healthy fats (omega 3 fatty acids found in fish, nuts, and seeds)
ă°a multivitamin
for those days where you havenât gotten food shopping in a minute and have 0 fresh food (it happens!)
If you have any questions about supplements personally, reach out!
Are you big on supplements? Whatâre your favs?

Creamy Chickpea CurryđĽ
đ˘New recipe up on the food blogđ˘
Hellooo November!
It's cooling down for real around these parts; I saw the first snowflake of the season yesterday!
When it gets chilly outside, all I want to eat are warming foods just like this incredibly delicious and creamy chickpea curry.
It's a one-pot wonder, is ready in 30 minutes or less, and will make even curry-suspicious eaters happy.
This meal works great for lunch or dinner, and is something you can count on to fill your belly with happiness.đ

How tight are you & your shadow?đ¤
The shadow is commonly thought of as everything we reject about ourselves â the unacceptable and unwanted bits.
The minute you say something about you is âbad,â you have a reason to suppress, ignore, and deny it.
Even though the shadow is unseen, it affects many things we do.
When we deny an aspect of ourselves it doesnât disappear.
It just fades away from our conscious awareness and into our subconscious.
The shadow â with a life of its own â can affect our actions and life experiences heavily if we donât pay attention to it.
The shadow is the reason we do certain things in life without understanding why we do it.
Learn to make friends with it, and feel pride in yourself growing exponentially!
Here are a few journaling prompts to help you begin your own shadow work:
âĄď¸Review your childhood
*How did you feel often as a child? What external stimuli affected that?
âĄď¸Become aware of your shadow
*What do you perceive as your flaws? What shaped those beliefs?
âĄď¸Understand the messages behind your triggers
*Why does that make you feel the way you do?
âĄď¸Observe without judgement
*Learn to love the intention behind your flaws and actions
In the Magic Within we will dive into the world shadow work and bring heightened awareness to why we do the things we do.
There is 1 day left to join us!
Next week will be about loving all parts of yourself: light and darkđŞ

Nature has the power to unleash a sense of mysticism within usđ
Mystical experiences feel like a flash of truth that releases you from your limited sense of self and gives you a taste of reality that somehow feels more real.
Have you ever had a mystical experience?
Here are a few defining characteristics to help you tell:
âď¸Conscious unity
âď¸Sense of total presence as if time doesnât exist
âď¸Objective reality. Everything doesnât just feel perfect, everything is perfect
âď¸Immense sense of gratitude
âď¸Life feels sacred
âď¸The experience is indescribable and is likely life-changing
Iâm so grateful to have had a few mystical experiences that sparked my spiritual awakening
I return to this feeling in my mind often
Itâs a practice, really. A reminder
It encourages me to be the most kind, open, and loving person I can be.
đĄHow that itself has the power to change the world, at the very least my own.
Just this morning I was sitting in my car waiting to take a left hand turn as rush hour traffic cruised by.
Rather than check out and go somewhere else mentally as impatience crept in, still a common reaction for me in those times, I chose to flex my compassion muscle. A takeaway I have gleamed from my experience with mystic.
I looked at each drivers face as they passed by and channeled my inner light.
A man looking away for a sec as he carefully sipped his coffee
A woman looking all dolled up, and a little sad
A couple petting their dog as they happily sang along to a song that made them feel
I wished them a good day from my car as they headed off to work or wherever it may have been.
âI love you, and you, and you, and you. My fellow humans!â I said in my mind as the imprint of each face passed on by along their way. A soft smile came to my face.
When the cars had all passed and I was free to take the turn, I did so with a renewed sense of love and connection to others.
A 1 minute activity that left me a feeling a way that Iâm still thinking about and sitting in 2 hours laterđ
Itâs the little things, my friend.
âĄď¸Whatâs one little action you can take to flex your compassion muscle today?
Wishing you a fantastic day!đĽ°
