Whiskey Pyramid

I grew up back and forth between Louisville and Appalachia. The holler my family settled a hundred years ago was just over the mountain from the holler Loretta Lynn grew up in and I heard about her and her family my entire life. My folks were proud of the music she made and where she came from. They knew that even though she had physically left the holler, her heart, like mine, would always run those hills. Nothing has changed. Her spirit will fill those deep dark hollers with light and music until the end of time. She’s not gone, you just have to know where to find her.
