If you have neck pain, the answer usually isn’t to stop moving altogether.

The goal is to learn how to move better.

In this video, Dr. Aring talks about why strength, control, and movement matter when it comes to neck pain — especially when symptoms start showing up during everyday activities like working at a desk, driving, lifting, or exercising.

The gym can become a place to rebuild confidence in movement, improve posture and control, and gradually expose the body to the positions and loads it experiences in daily life.

Avoiding movement forever isn’t the goal. Building resilience is.

Last week, we showed what a 3D gait analysis is.

This week, we’re showing what it looks like in action.

By breaking down movement step by step, we’re able to identify compensations, track progress, and build a plan specific to the individual in front of us.

These clips show one of our clients going through the process — along with changes seen just two weeks later.

Small changes in movement patterns can make a big difference over time.

Not all tight muscles need to be stretched.

Jon came across an instagram video discussing hip flexor tightness that doesn’t improve with stretching — and this is something we see often in the clinic. In many cases, the issue isn’t just length, it’s a lack of strength and control.

When the hip flexors aren’t doing their job well, the body compensates. That can show up as persistent tightness, discomfort, or limited movement.

Instead of stretching more, the focus shifts to strengthening and coordinating the hip flexors so they can handle load and movement effectively.

Sometimes the solution isn’t to relax the muscle — it’s to train it.

From Content → Clinic: Prenatal Core

This month we are discussing videos each team member found on social media and how they relate to our patients! Our personal trainer Kylie came across a video from a physical therapist sharing pregnancy-safe core exercises, and it stood out for focusing on what you CAN do during pregnancy.

Core training during pregnancy isn’t about intensity — it’s about control, stability, and supporting the body as it changes. When done well, it can help improve posture, reduce discomfort, and build a strong foundation for both childbirth and recovery.

This is one of Kylie’s favorite patient populations to work with because of the impact it has on how clients feel day to day through their pregnancy, and greatly increases the ease of delivery and recovery after childbirth.

If you’re pregnant and looking to stay active with a plan that supports your body, Kylie is currently taking clients.
