I was inspired by assimilation and code-switching in predominantly white workplaces and crews and early experiences of feeling self-conscious about my skin color. With light-skinned Filipinos typically receiving more representation in mainstream media, I wanted to confront the anti-blackness and colorism prevalent in communities of color.
