Flashback to 2002: summer break is in full swing. The newest Hot Wheels commercial just played on Nickelodeon and you beg your mom to take you to Toys R Us. Why? Because every 90s kid knew that was the spot for getting the coolest new toys to show off to your friends at your next sleepover.
Fast forward to 2018: Toys R Us closes its doors for the last time. Millennials everywhere mourn. They think, "wtf happened to THE toy store of my generation?!" It wasn't the iconic name that beautifully sums up the brand's sole purpose - to sell toys and only toys. We're not usually fans of descriptive names (because yawn) but in this case, in a time before Googling everything first, it took one look at the store sign to know what you were in for.
For those many millennials who were caught off guard by this loss, this is a love letter to Toys R Us from all of us:
You had one job and you did it well. The days walking down your aisles are forever cherished and remembered by the last generation of "simpler times" shoppers. Thank you for giving us something to spend our allowances on in your prime. Back then, we wished on stars to get that new unicorn stuffy, now we wish on stars to rewind the clock, for you and us both. 💖

On the way home from school you pass the trucks on the side of the road with the big green oblong striped fruits on the back of them. Your parents pick up only one to test for sweetness. You watch as they take that murderous weapon and slice through that weird shape. Red juices start slowly spilling and staining the knife red. Dad slices the fruit into a fun triangle. You think "geometry and food, school's over for the year I thought." You take your triangle with you outside sitting on the porch with your siblings. Each of you spits out the dark black seeds seeing who can reach the farthest with their seeds. This is summer living.
This is the inspiration behind our pink. We wish for those times again.

This is the story of a girl who never fit in. But don't worry - it's not a sad one (you can put those tissues down now). Because what she once thought was a bad thing turned out to be really, really good.
You see, Zofia (who goes by Zo these days) grew up being that weird, Polish kid in a normal, American world. As she gained confidence in herself over the years, she embraced the weird and found her love of words and all things unusual, which led her on the path to be a boss betch and build her own reality fueled by her vivid imagination.
Now she knows she's exactly where she needs to be: co-running a copywriting studio and not answering to anyone but the power of language. 💖

Lingua has two meanings in Italian: language, and more literally, tongue 👅
The name comes from our shared love of language and passion for bringing your brand language to life.
We just HAD to bring that to life in an iconic...icon. So here it is.

You didn't expect us to make a new color palette without naming it, did you? 🌈
Meet: School's Out.
That's our energy right now and always.
As 90's kids, nothing beats the nostalgia of the end of the school year and the beginning of summer.
It's an exciting time with so much to look forward to, just like how we're feeling about our new direction.
And of course, we couldn't help but sprinkle some alliteration into the names because that's how we do!
