Metro Auto Ministry

As we continue to look back on 10 years of service, we wanted to share a very special client testimony. Brandy was one of the first people we were able to provide a car for, and she is now one of our biggest fans! We have kept up with her, seen her daughter grow up, and welcomed her into our church community.

“When I first came to Metro Auto Ministry, I was a scared single mom with very few resources to my name. I heard about them through a domestic violence shelter that was helping me at the time. My daughter’s dad was struggling with addiction and I made the decision to kick him out. This left me supporting myself and an 8-month-old all on my own, with no vehicle.

My biggest need was a car. I had a horrible credit score and was not eligible for the financing I needed. When I reached out to Brad, he worked with my budget to get me a vehicle.

Today, I am financially solid and am able to keep steady work. I wouldn’t be anywhere near where I am in life if it wasn’t for the ministry and the multiple cars they have provided for me over the years.

It’s only through donations that this ministry has grown and been able to help single parents, families, students, and anyone who is low income. At times, a vehicle can make a huge difference in someone’s life. BE THAT CHANGE!”

Metro Auto Ministry started in 2015 with Brad doing everything solo — mechanic, admin, boss, fundraiser… you name it. While this may have appealed to Brad's introverted nature, it was definitely too much work.

Ten years later, we now have a well-rounded and skilled team of six:
🧠 David - whose engineering mind helps with diagnosis
🔧Duane - who uses his mechanical skills to do hands on repairs
🧼 Kurt - manages all the finishing work: inspections, cleaning/detailing cars, and making sure the car is in the best shape possible for the customer
🛠 Artie - our mechanic-in-training, who does minor repair work, tune ups, and light body repair
📞 Chelsea - our Personality Hire, who manages administration and communication with customers
🧢 Brad - bosses all of us around every day

This team means families have less wait time, more accurate diagnoses, AND they’re saved from paying 3x at a for-profit shop.
