Denton ISD Fine Arts welcomes Denton High School Color Guard Director Ms. Sarah Grindal!

Ms. Grindal is a current student at the University of North Texas, graduating next year with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Before joining Denton High School, she served as an Assistant Color Guard Director in Birdville ISD as well as working with schools in Irving ISD, Northwest ISD, and Carroll ISD. She has marched with several distinguished organizations such as The Bluecoats, The Blue Stars, and Ménage performance ensemble. Ms. Grindal has been a part of the color guard world for a decade and hopes to bring a positive learning environment by inspiring students and growing their passion for color guard.

Although it’s taken us over a week to post our camp update- it's finally done...at least we’re not still waking up in the middle of the night hearing, “BLUE! GOLD! U-C-A!” 😂

We are so proud of our Mascot, JV, and Varsity athletes who not only leveled up throughout the week, but also earned Gameday Readiness Excellent and Superior ribbons. We brought home 3rd and 4th place championship finishes, a 1st Place Mascot Performance, the Traditions Award, two Pin It Forward recipients (with one athlete earning it twice!), and celebrated six All-American cheerleaders and our mascot.

This UCA camp looked a little different than what we’re used to, but we came home with a new appreciation for random judge trials, reality TV moments, singing the national anthem, pushing our stunt skills, and learning that sometimes the best memories come from falling down (potentially on purpose....) and laughing together.

A special shoutout to our seniors who completed their final UCA Camp. Thank you for leading us, setting the tone all week, and reminding everyone what it means to represent this program. We are so grateful for the legacy you continue to build. 💜

Finally, thank you to our Bronco Nation who drove four hours on a Thursday to yell with us and fill the stands. Your support means more than you know.

Most importantly, we came home thankful for each other. Grateful for this team, this program, our Bronco family, and the memories we are continuing to build.

Can't wait for our season to finally begin this fall!!! 💜💛
