Spring into Pride

The thing, the religious organization had a great idea! Gathering our neighbors to unite over a common interest in the (sometimes!) beautiful March Texas weather! Given political pressures against the LGBTQIA+ community, we felt there was also a need for those of us to gather and celebrate spring as well.

This isn't about one religious organization having their rightful event on their square. This is about giving people a chance to get to know some of their community that has been demonized and slandered by our political and religious leaders. It's giving those are LGBTQIA+ a chance to find friends and connections in an increasingly violent world. It's about Breaking bread with your community and playing a few games and seeing that we are all just people.

We invite you to come out to the Square on March 31st for Trans Day of Visibility and see for yourself! See you then!

What is Spring Into Q***r Joy?

In light of recent action here in Denton against the q***r community, Spring into Q***r Joy is a big community picnic in celebration of the diversity of the people of Denton (including and especially you!), and to stand with the q***r community in this time of need.

**Who can attend?

All are welcome!

As each and every one of us makes up the community as the people of Denton, this is also a really good opportunity for all of us to come together to spend time with each other! So come out, bring your family and a blanket, grab some food, partake in an activity, and talk to a neighbor!

**What should I expect?

As this is a big community picnic, expect food, music, games, and good conversation. Feel free to bring food, music, and games to share with everyone, though there will be food provided that is diet- and allergen-friendly (we want to be inclusive to everyone, after all!).

Additionally, while there may be some individuals who wish to throw shade on our sunshine, we'll just be louder and prouder. Be you!
