Flying cherry pits, lively parade floats and exuberant music filled Paonia's downtown and park last Friday and Saturday for the 80th annual Cherry Days festival.

Businesses set up shop on the sidewalks of Grand Ave. on Friday morning's "Downtown Day." Western Colorado Realty, Fiona's Bartique and Heart of the Dragon were just a few, offering things like cake, thrifted clothes and antiques, and local candles and art. Local bands played from the gazebo all throughout the afternoon while other vendors sold things like sourdough bread and vintage jewelry in the town park. Some hours after the co****le tournament, the North Fork Valley Community & Parade Band and Cosmic Vortex Aerial Dance performed jazz tunes and aerial silk dances for the crowds gathering on the grass.
