Team 5472, the Wyld Stallyns, competed in South Florida Regional on March 3rd and 4th. They were the #3 overall after their qualification matches and became the second seed alliance captain, choosing FRC 180 Team 180 S.P.A.M. and Team 7652 Miami Beach Bots as their alliance partners. The alliance, with Team 5472 as its captain, made it all the way to the finals, fighting for a bid to the World Championships. Unfortunately, they lost a hard fought battle in the final rounds. On top of their gameplay success, Team 5472 won the Industrial Design Award sponsored by General Motors for their robot’s form, functionality, and aesthetics. Overall, the competition was extremely successful, and Team 5472 will be competing in the Orlando Regional from March 15th to March 18th.
