A Class A CDL license is required for driving vehicles that have a GCWR, or gross combination weight rating, of more than 26,000 lbs. With the correct endorsements, anyone who obtains a Class A CDL license can drive:

Truck tractor
Flatbeds
Tanker vehicles
Van trailers
Truck and trailer combinations
