The Permian Basin Oilman’s Bass Invitational (PBOBI) began in 1995 with the intent of promoting camaraderie between oilfield workers. However, in going beyond a weekend of fun and fishing, the PBOBI decided to make the event a charitable fundraiser. 🎣 Planning to fish in Del Rio, Texas at the event next weekend? Here’s what you need to know!
You will need a BOTH a fising license AND a Lake Amistad permit. The lake permit will need to be purchased at Diablo East Boat Ramp
No permits will be sold at Rough Canyon if launching there.
💻 You can buy your fishing license through the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD) website and print it or save it to your phone.
If you prefer an in person option, you can purchase your fishing license at these establishments in Del Rio:
📍 Russell Hardware and Co – 506 E Gibbs St (830-775-3502)
📍 Walmart Supercenter – 2410 Veterans Blvd (830-775-6515)

⚠️ Other Important Reminders:
✔️ A fishing license is required to fish in public Texas waters
✔️ Two permits are required – anglers must obtain a fishing license and a lake permit
✔️ Anyone under 17 years old does NOT need a license
✔️ Fishing on the Mexico side of Lake Amistad? You must obtain a Mexico fishing license
