HGC is partnering with Coalition of Neighborhood Organizations and Beautify Decatur Coalition this weekend to support Community Impact Days. We have pre-built litter pick-up kits available for volunteers to utilize in neighborhood clean-up activities. Come see us at 1090 W Wood!

The Litter Kits are simple and might be something you already have at your house. For those Do-It-Yourself Types, each kit includes a small bucket, garbage &/or grocery bags, garden or work gloves and a small broom & dustpan.

We can’t wait to see our local volunteers through the city working collectively to remove litter & debris!! Don’t forget to post YOUR photos and tag

Happy Monday! Janet Nielsen of Rescue & Render was the first painter to join HomeGrown Collective Decatur! Her whimsical pet portraits have brought us so much joy. We are working with her on a limited release of prints and stickers coming soon!!
All of her 4x4 mini prints are just $25 each. The proceeds of her art goes towards the care of the Oakwood neighborhood feral cat population.

We believe life is better with dogs!! And so we have a couple of HGC Pet Guests in the shop today: Loki Boi (husky) and Pepper Mae (terrier mix).
They are ready to greet you, unless dogs aren’t your thing. In that case, we’re happy to move them to the back of house during your visit.

We’re a little sad to see these two go but had a good laugh when a customer asked if we would write his friends’ names on them as a “Snooker” gift. Then we had to look up “snooker”.

FYI…according to the interwebs, “Snooker is a precision cue sport played on a large 12x6 foot baize-covered table with six pockets”

We were asked to speak at Decatur Early Birds Kiwanis Club this morning and were so happy to “show-and-tell” with art from several of our local artists!! We also shared updates from the Oakwood Business Association highlighting a few projects the small business owners have working in the neighborhood with the Decatur Illinois - City Government and Millikin University.
