In this video, I walk through a tested repair system that uses a 1½" wide steel strap packed with fasteners to restore—and even exceed—the original strength of a notched joist. You’ll see how I size the notch, pick the correct 24" strap (good up to a 6" notch with enough wood above), drill pilot holes, drive the T25 hardware, and lock everything down in about 15 minutes.
