A stream is one of the most deceptively complex features in landscape design. Water follows physics, not aesthetics — and water moving across improperly designed rock surfaces will find every flaw in the construction: gaps where it will pool, grades where it will stagnate, edges where it will undercut and erode.

Coloring is applied in mineral-based layers that replicate the specific palette of natural waterways — the iron staining on wet stone, the pale mineral deposit at the waterline, the deep mossy shadow at the base of a cascade.
