Ikon Community Church
🌿🕊️ Contemplating the day after Easter, we find ourselves at the crossroads of resurrection and reality. In the aftermath of celebration, we are confronted with the stark truths of our world, where suffering and injustice persist like stubborn weeds in the garden of humanity.
The resurrection story, steeped in uncertainty and hope, beckons us to confront these truths with courage and honesty. For just as Jesus emerged from the tomb, defying death's grasp, we have a confident hope to escape not only the eternal consequences of sin, but also the very evils of injustice that plague our society.
In the face of oppression and marginalization, let us heed the call to action, recognizing that true justice requires more than mere words or intentions. It demands a radical reimagining of our world, a dismantling of systems that perpetuate inequality and a commitment to building a more equitable society for all.
This day after Easter serves as a solemn reminder of our collective responsibility to confront the darkness within and around us. Let us not shy away from the uncomfortable truths that challenge our perceptions and beliefs. Instead, let us embrace them with open hearts and minds, knowing that only through facing our shadows can we truly embrace the light of hope and transformation.
With this in mind, let us strive to be truth-seekers and truth-tellers, unafraid to confront the complexities of our world with courage and compassion. For it is only through this journey of heart recalibration and collective reckoning that we can truly embody the spirit of resurrection and create a more just and compassionate world for future generations. 🌿🕊️

“A person’s heart plans his way, but the Lord determines his steps” Proverbs 16:9 CSB
Dear Ikon Family,
Over the last few months, we’ve experienced heaviness, unexpected transitions and tragedies that have created some deep questions for Ikon’s health and future. With that in mind, the Elders have decided to cancel church services over this Labor Day weekend hoping that this time will serve as an intentional sabbath wherein we can all pray and discern what God is doing with Ikon going forward. While many will be away over the holiday, please be in prayer for our leadership as we spend time discerning God’s path for us.
On the following Sunday, September 11, we will be gathered back together for a church family meeting to discuss Ikon’s past 8 years as well as Ikon’s future. We encourage everyone to be there.
Have a great weekend and a safe holiday!
Sincerely,
Ikon Elders

“Jesus Calls Us to Radical Truthfulness.”

We are so grateful for the leadership and love from Pastor Jen for Ikon Community Church. She was an integral part of our founding in 2014 and we could not have grown without her. She has been the backbone of our church in many ways. Leading and planning all our events, classes, kid's programs, and adult Bible and book studies. We have had the honor of learning from her while she's preached from the pulpit, taught us about the female image of God, helped us dive deeper into "What's in the Word" and led numerous women's retreats. We know countless of our members have relied on her for counsel and support over the years, and she has provided such comfort to many of us.
Sunday, August 28th will be Jen's last Sunday with us before she moves to Minneapolis for a new job.
Please join us on Saturday, August 27th, 1pm for a celebratory send-off. More information to follow.
