As the nation celebrates its 250th birthday this Fourth of July, we wish you and your family a happy and safe Independence Day!

In observance of the Fourth of July, our office is closed today. The holiday also means that a Saturday edition won't be distributed. We look forward to seeing you again on Monday.

Flight of the Fairies returning this weekend The 2026 Flight of the Fairies will take place Saturday at Hanna Nutman Nature Trails, 1402 N. Washington St., Decatur, from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

Be cautious if you intend on doing any traveling this evening.
