Dr. Michael Jokich came to North Alabama back in 1998 and was the lead radiologist for many years at Parkway Medical Center, Hartselle Medical Center and Woodland Medical Center. He then worked as the lead radiologist for The Center for Imaging Excellence in Huntsville before opening TIC. Dr. Jokich is board-certified by the American Board of Radiology as of 1990. He did his radiology residency at the University of Chicago, and was an Assistant Professor of Radiology at Rush University in Chicago before coming to Alabama. He has always tried to provide the very best care to all patients referred to him. He believes in high-quality detailed reads(using no canned reports), timely delivery of reports, and personal service, including calling the referring physician personally to deliver results in all cases medically requiring this and even in cases he personally feels require more timely reporting. This more personalized service leads to a significant increase in patient satisfaction for both involved in the patient’s care.

How can I prepare for my upcoming MRI exam?

For an ordinary MRI, no special preparation is required, but be sure to leave any jewelry or other metal objects at home. Under certain conditions, specialized MRIs require dietary restrictions when the MRI requires injection or ingestion of a contrast agent (a dye used for image enhancement). It is important to notify the person performing the test of any illness, allergy, or previous drug reaction.
