Frazier-Rowe Park

. The land had been farmed at one time, but not for several decades, and the land had become filled with trees and with invasive plants and trash. When volunteers started work, it was difficult to even walk into the park because of the mass of thorns and underbrush. Thanks to hundreds of volunteers, both neighbors and corporate and other groups who come to the Park through Park Pride, a non-profit group that works with park in DeKalb County and the City of Atlanta, the Park now is easy to access and we have trails throughout. We have had monthly workdays on a regular basis and almost all of the progress is the result of volunteer labor. We have been the beneficiary of three Eagle Scout Projects, which include a bridge over the creek that bisects the park, a kiosk in the front of the park, which tells about the park, and a scout learning center located in the rear of the park. We have received numerous donated plants from both our regular volunteers as well as the North Georgia Camellia Society.
