On Tuesday, as part of the Chamber's Excellence in Leadership Decatur-Morgan County program, the Chamber hosted a school superintendent panel discussion featuring Dr. Dan Brigman from Decatur City Schools, Decatur, Alabama, Bill W. Hopkins Jr., from Morgan County Schools, and Dr. Vic Wilson from Hartselle City Schools. The three took questions from the 30-member class on topics including state funding, building up leaders in their school systems, challenges in education and their hope for students of the future. Each of the three systems have partnerships with one another to share facilities, teachers and other resources that focus on student success, and our area is incredibly fortunate to have leaders who recognize the value of working together. Thanks to each of them for their dedication and tireless efforts for our young people!
Each year at Homecoming, the Academic Booster Club hosts a luncheon for past and current DHS teachers. If you would like to help or contribute money to this effort, please contact Louise Brown at [email protected]. Thank you!
