Another great morning at BNI Decatur.
We had 100% attendance, welcomed 2 visitors, and heard a strong featured presentation from Art Wood with The Art Wood Mortgage Team. Art did a great job showing that the mortgage process is not just about rates, but about strategy, communication, and creating real solutions for clients.
Congratulations to Christine Lloyd-Newberry with Emerge Empowered Coaching on winning this week’s Ivan Award for best 45-second presentation.
We are also looking forward to next week’s featured speaker, Joel Waggoner with Fraser Roofing, LLC.
Each week, BNI Decatur continues to prove that relationships, consistency, and trust are what drive real business. If you would like to visit and learn more about our chapter, we would love to have you.

BNI Decatur showed up strong this morning with growth, energy, and serious business momentum.
We were excited to officially induct two new members into the chapter:
• Sebrecia Colquitt with Reach Technologies – Promotional Products
• Wanda Gilchrist with A Lady’s Touch – Home Staging
Welcome to the team. We’re looking forward to building with you.
Our featured speaker was Chunja Sinclair with Peak Interiors by Chunja, and she delivered a powerful behind-the-scenes look at what true interior design really involves. From space planning and construction coordination to managing vendors and reducing decision fatigue for homeowners, she walked us through the difference between staging, decorating, and full-service interior design. Her message was clear: great design isn’t just about making a space beautiful — it’s about creating function, flow, and long-term value.
Melissa Curl with Outrun Physical Therapy took home the Ivan Award (Ivan Swan) this week for her memorable education moment on proper shoe selection. She broke down how lightweight design, low heel drop, firmer midsoles, and a wider toe box can improve stability and reduce injury risk. Practical, clear, and actionable — and it earned her the win.
Stephen Bentley’s education moment challenged us to ask deeper questions in our one-to-ones. Surface-level conversations don’t drive referrals. Better questions create clarity, self-realization, and stronger referral triggers. The best networkers don’t just exchange information — they expand perspective.
Visitor recap:
• 2 BNI members from other chapters
• 4 first-time visitors
• 1 repeat visitor/sub
We also celebrated strong chapter performance with over $287,000 in closed business so far this fiscal year and attendance holding above 90 percent. Consistency matters, and it shows.
