The Criminal Justice Reform Institute's purpose is to educate policy makers on the punitive laws that are enacted. We must dispel the discriminatory laws and practices toward individuals with a past criminal record and make sure they have an equal chance at becoming productive citizens again. By doing so, the Institute will conduct research accompanied with empirical evidence that will assist us in our fight to change these discriminatory laws that are not within sound reason. The Criminal Justice Reform Institute looks to restore the use of the terms Justice and Reform and to make those individuals affected feel whole and human again.
