The Robert Mello Studio is dedicated to Meisner-based actor training and classes, and serves both the Atlanta and Los Angeles acting communities. Classes offer you a technique for crafting film, television and stage performances that are:
โข Truthful
โข Visceral
โข Grounded and Organic
ยบ The BEST technique for film and television
THIS ISN'T YOUR PARENT'S MEISNER TECHNIQUE. Sanford Meisner created a brilliant technique - for his time. This is updated, faster and works off of who actors are today, not the 1950's and 1960's. Robert's teaching style is compassionate, straight-forward and filled with joy and humor. Teaching is Robert's greatest passion.

Your ring light didnโt book the job. It also didnโt lose you the other one.
from put this together. Thanks, Jayson!
iPhone and a ring light? Booked. Fancier lighting? Didnโt book.
We love this because, as discussed in our newsletter, actors are being encouraged to believe they need a small branch of Universal Studios in the spare bedroom before theyโre allowed to act.
Bull. Sheet.
Sure, itโs nice to turn in an ""expensive"-looking self-tape.
BUT YOU DONโT HAVE TO.
You need to be seen. You need to be heard. You need to follow the instructions. You need to act.
An actress recently posted about quitting because she believes auditioning has become all about your backdrop, camera, and lights. We get the frustration. But the acting still matters.
Donโt believe everything you doom scroll.
Somewhere between โmake sure we can see your eyesโ and โI need another $800 light before Iโm competitive,โ weโve lost our fu***ng minds a little.
Give them a clear view of your work, then give yourself permission to enjoy doing it. This business gets enough of us already without taking that too.
More of this in The Sunday Sermon, our weekly newsletter. Don't miss out, folks are loving it.
