Every time we hit the floor, we’re stepping into people’s lives at their most vulnerable moments. There’s no room for do-overs. This isn’t baking cookies where you can start over if it doesn’t come out right. In the hospital, every decision matters. Every action counts. We care for patients who are seriously ill, we expose ourselves to everything—viruses, blood, emotions that are heavy—and we still show up with focus, precision, and compassion. But we’re human too. We see ourselves in our patients, we feel for their families, and sometimes, we carry that home with us. We love what we do. We’re proud of the impact we make. But please understand—it’s more than just a shift. It’s life and death. And it stays with us. To my fellow healthcare workers: I see you. I feel you.
