Thin Red Line CPR

When we say we'll turn anything into a classroom, we mean ANYTHING! Set up at the gym at Mainstream Habilitation Services of Azle for a BLS course. The staff thanked us for going over scenarios specific to their needs and resources down to the individual phone calls they needed to make in what order. 911 first, THEN your boss. Be prepared dispatch is not going to hang up until Fire/Medics arrive for a CPR in progress.

Baylor university student saves a life!
Student question: Stop the Bleed. What do you do when you run out of medical supplies because there are more patients than you can help?
With active shooters or hurricanes or other situations where patients may outnumber your resources, that is the definition of a "Mass Casuality Incident" (MCI). Whether its 5 patients or 200, now we are in triage mode. Quickly identify and label patents into categories of green: walking wounded, yellow: injured but stable, red: injured and unstable, black: dead or has injuries incompatible with life. Focus on all the red patients using as much supplies as you can, you may have to get very creative in the field. Call for help. There are plenty of resources available for these scenarios from the county emergency management. Do the best you can with what you can until more help arrives.

🚨 Cardiac Arrest Save – A Life Saved Through Teamwork 🚨
When it comes to cardiac arrest, seconds matter. Prompt recognition and immediate action can mean the difference between life and death.
Early CPR gives a patient their best chance of survival, and it often begins before first responders ever arrive. That’s where Emergency Medical Dispatching (EMD) plays a critical role—guiding callers step-by-step through CPR, providing calm, clear instructions when it matters most.
This is why we strongly encourage everyone in our community to consider becoming CPR certified. You never know when you might be the one who makes the difference.
Today, we are proud to recognize a true success story made possible by the Chain of Survival:
➡️ Early recognition
➡️ Rapid access to 911
➡️ Early CPR (assisted by our dispatcher)
➡️ Early defibrillation
➡️ Advanced care by paramedics
Megan's quick action, coupled with calm encouragement and lifesaving instruction from 911, and outstanding advanced care from Clinton Fire Department Paramedics, led to Jason walking out of the hospital—a true cardiac arrest save.
We are incredibly thankful for the high-performing teams that make outcomes like this possible.
