Today is for honoring the women who raised us. Mothers, grandmothers, aunties, older sisters, godmothers, mentors, neighbors, teachers, and the women who showed up when life was heavy.
Some of us were loved loudly. Some of us were loved quietly, through packed lunches, late-night talks, extra shifts, and the kind of strength you only notice once you’re older.
And for some people, Mother’s Day brings grief, distance, or mixed emotions. If that’s your experience, you’re not alone; there’s room for the full truth today, not just the pretty version.
If you are celebrating, let it be intentional by saying the thing you always meant to say, telling a story that deserves to be remembered, thanking the woman who stayed steady when you were not, or honoring the love that raised you, in whatever form it came.
Today’s also for honoring legacy and what gets poured in: patience, courage, discipline, tenderness, and the belief that you could become more.

Planning looks like naming the right people, putting instructions in writing, and making sure your assets and your documents align.
When there’s no planning to prevent conflict, the “cure” often looks like court paperwork, delays, frozen accounts, and family conflict that could have been reduced.
The good news is you can build your plan in steps. Start with the essentials, then strengthen it over time. The key is to start while you have full choice and full control.

A common misconception is that once you sign your documents, you are done forever. Life changes, and your plan should keep up:
✔️Marriage, divorce, or a new relationship.
✔️New children or grandchildren.
✔️A move to a new state.
✔️Buying or selling a home.
✔️Starting or selling a business.
✔️A change in health or caregiving needs.
⚠️The risk is quiet because your documents still exist, so you assume you are covered. But outdated decision makers, outdated beneficiaries, and outdated asset titles can create major problems when your family needs the plan to function.
My firm helps clients to create plans, but also revisit them. We want you to feel confident that your documents match your current life, your current values, and your current people. And if you haven’t reviewed your plan in years, you need a simple update path.
